This is the third video I’ve shot with my director friend Armen Varadian. I think he is a great director not only because he has a keen eye for a cool shot (with a difficult subject), but he also has a way of tapping into the meaning of a song without being too obvious. Thought I’d send a little year end wrap up, and cover a few topics people have been asking about. It was a pretty incredible year for me. I played 153 shows and opened up two major tours for artists I greatly admire. I performed in listening rooms, amphitheaters, house shows, rock clubs and theaters. I am writing this on a flight right now, heading home from a two week trip to India. The plane is a symphony of babies crying, people coughing, a Vietnamese mother of two throwing up in the next row (we talked before the flight) and the woman in the seat next to me applying incredibly toxic smelling nail polish. It is a perfect stew for sleeplessness and hence, the best time to write a newsletter.
